Come and take part in this fun contest to raise funds for Movember. All boards (short and long) are to be pre-1980's. Beg or borrow some sticks from the ballies. Meet at Pipe at 08h00 Saturday 21 Nov.
The Soul Surf Classic used to be a regular event in PE. Everybody who owned an oooooold board would bring it to the beach; you would choose your ‘weapon’ before paddling out and you would try and surf the sucker. If you made it to the final, it would be an organised race (with no rules applied) from one end of the beach to the other, with the winner having his choice of board. Craig Cuff is hoping to revive this fun event and raise some money for the Movember charity, which aims to raise awareness for Mens’ Cancer and other health issues. The only boards that can be ridden are boards made pre-1980’s. A shortboard section has been added now, so not only longboards, because there are some really cool twinnies and single fins out there that should be ridden. It would be great if guys who have pre 80's boards could bring them down (take them off your walls and out of your roofs) and make them available for the contest. Boards were meant to be ridden and I’m sure there are plenty boards out there crying to be used again. Donations can be made at http://mobro.co/thecuffster, but come down on Saturday 21 November to Pipe and take part. Boardwalk Hotel will throw in some prizes and if there is anyone else out there who wants to donate prizes, Craig will gladly accept and share the love. Steve Sawyer will be playing a live gig at the Cork Wine Bar (free entry) to raise funds to go to the World Surfing Champs in China. Come and support a China by helping him go to China. He will be selling his amazing CD to help raise more funds. Check out the Facebook event page here https://www.facebook.com/events/908252185919052/ or get hold of Craig Cuff on craig@cuffstuff.com
