Some Tuesday waves at Millers. Light onshore and some fun, albeit, lumpy waves. Greg Heasley hooked one all the way to the beach at Hobie. Then decided to paddle back instead of walk...

The wind pomped on Sunday - but it didn't stop some brave souls trying there luck - and reaping the rewards.

All images Tricia Daniels A few lil lumpy one's at Pipe last week. Lekker weather and there was a wave so always worth getting wet.
All images Heather Nel Pipe might have felt like there were icebergs floating about in the line-up but the waves were good enough to get the guys frothing despite the cold. Shots from Thermometer-drop Thursday.
All images Luc Hosten Stoked to have some fresh shots from Luc Hosten of the winter waves on Thursday. Pretty wind affected, but they were there to be ridden. Water as cold as a polar bears ass.

The day Millers coooooked. As Car Park John would say. Here's another great set of shots from that day, taken by the "lady with the big camera" (otherwise known as Petronel!) All images Howard Briscoe
Monday was mayhem. The 14th of Jan will go down as probably one of the best days at Millers in a long, long time. Great conditions and great swell. Double whammy bonus. Howard, after surfing himself miff, went and grabbed his camera and got some lekker shots.

Sometimes the universe aligns, and sends us epic swell and epic conditions at the same time. So Monday 14th January saw Millers going off it's pip - solid lines, warm water and a clean offshore. Yes - pinch yourself! Stories of some incredible rides, including some Chomp Rock to Hobie beach leg burners.
Needless to say my message box was quickly clogged by peeps sending me shots of my front yard going off whilst I wasn't there. Thankfully I wasn't too green with envy as had just scored equally insane surf the same day in Indo, with just two of us in the water. But still, missing out on the front yard still sucks.
Crowds were thick as you can imagine - cos it had been flat as a pan for pretty much a whole month, so froth levels were off the charts. However, with plenty of waves and plenty of water moving about it seemed to keep the craziness under control and everyone seemed to hook at least one or two good ones - and that's all you need when it's that good.
Kody McGregor got some great shots of the cooking surf, you can check them out on the Zigzag Gallery over here. Give it and click to see how good PE can get....sometimes!!!
