Greetings from Aus....
I lived in PE for 9 years and started surfing at 16 at Fence. Surfed around 45 hours a week at spots all over PE. Avalanche , Millers and Humewood been favorites and of course JBay.
I moved to PE from Benoni at the age of 16 and started surfing straight away. I first went out at Fence in 6-7 ft and will never forget that day I first stood up on a 6ft right hander at Fence.
I lived to surf in those days and spent most days at the beach surfing or waiting for a swell.
I immigrated to Australia in 1987 to be rerunited with my father and 2 brothers who left SA in 1975 to live in Queensland Australia. I and now live in Redcliffe QLD. I still surf whenever possible and always will, and am also a member of Aussie surf lifesaving.
The water here is very warm and can get very crowded, so I still get out as early as possible to miss the crowds. Don’t miss the wetsuit.
I’m now 49 and riding a MR Puffer fish after snapping my 9.2 ft Mal on a big day at Moffat Beach, our favourite spot on the Sunshine Coast.
I miss the early morning sessions at Fence, Millers, Avalanche, Humewood and Pipe which I often had to myself especially in the winter. I was purely a social surfer and never really mixed with the club riders, often surfing alone.
