Mark, Aron and Chaim take on Bali
“Our indo trip took place in the Easter holidays. We were in Bali for about 2 weeks were we stayed at numerous places on the island. The first week we stayed at Bingin, a short very hollow wave. We had some waves although it didn’t pick up much swell while we were there.
Although we stayed at Bingin, it was a very short scooter ride to Uluwatu - the famous left hand reef! It was spectacular, and was as fun as everyone had told us it would be. After the 1st week drew to an end, we moved on to stay in Sanur. Sanur has a reef break, but it wasn’t working at the time, so a 30 minute taxi ride took us to a place called Keramas.
Black sand and perfect right handers! Loving life for the regular footers. Mark and Chaim were charging the 6ft solid rides that were on offer! Not to be left out as the lone goofyfooter I had to dig deep and pull rail for some solid waves.
Our perfect Keramas surf was topped up with surfing with some pros, 15 people out, incredible waves. Well known surfers in the water included Aritz Aranburu, Craig Anderson (ex-Saffa, now Aus), and some WCT surfers from Brazil.
Then our last couple of days we stayed in Uluwatu, where more waves were shared. We met such amazing people and had such a jol! A cold Bintang after a long surf would make anyone smile!
Crowds were not too bad, but it was not in season and the waves were fickle. My mom, Natti also came along as the nurse, video lady, and mother.
All together it was an amazing trip, and I can’t wait to go back!
PACK SUNCREAM and AFTERSUN! Very important.”
