May got off to a pretty slow start, but then things hotted up appreciably at the end of the month, with a week's straight swell that had everyone surfed out by the end of it. A purple patch of note showed up on the forecasts, and certainly delivered the goods.
Pipe 31 May '11 (Luc) Barreled Bruce
Bruce returns after an AWOL period. Good to see him back in the water and ripping everything to pieces. Some good surfing going down on Monday arvie, and Luc was there to capture the action.

Pipe didn't look half bad actually. Dirk captured the late arvie session, and got some good shots of the guys boosting and barreling. Shows you that even in hectic conditions the guys still managed to get their waves. Check em out...

Zane got some good shots over the weekend at Pipe. Reckoned wasn't too much going down on Saturday, more like a warm up for what was to come, cos Sunday was the day. So nice to have a run of waves for a change. Check out Zane's shots here.

Ang braved the teeth of the wind early arvie yesterday to snap some good shots of the guys taking on the storm surf. Move of the day to Dane who pulled a snap under the lip, complete with head dip. Nice one! Check it.

Angelo was under-gunned and had to brave the icy winds out on the Pipe to get his shots, all the while looking jealously at Dirk and Luc with their bazooka lens's. The effort was worth it though, with some close up's of the action.

Yrr, it was windy today. The chop pretty much ruined everything. It was so big on any other day it would have counted as a wave in itself - although it was headed in the wrong direction. Check out the bumps here.

The wind thankfully boggered off late yesterday arvie, which allowed some pretty fun waves to pop up at Pipe for some lucky punters. Grant and Jacques were going nuts. Luckily Angelo was there to get it on camera. Check it out here.

Avo's probably was the pick of the spots today. Just imagine if there'd been a bit more sand!? Got super clean in the arvie, which saw some red-hot surfing go down. Josh ducked straight from a surf at Millers to go shoot the action at Avo's.

Yay, waves at last in the bay. Had thought the wind wasn't gonna play ball today, but luckily it did. Plenty of fun one's at Millers, but by late arvie the crowds were insane and the waves had gone. Check the shots here.

Friday arvies are groms day out. Pipe gets over-run by 4ft 40kg energizer bunnies. Try getting a wave off that lot, I dare you! Best reward for sticking out a week of school though, so they deserve it! Luc got the shots.

Angelo Ciarrochi is back in the bay on his 3 month summer vac from the States. Lucky for us he's got his camera with and is pretty keen to get some shots of the ou's ripping. He was down at Pipe on Thursday and caught Matt flying.

At last some shots coming from PE. Pipe had some decent waves coming through on Friday arvie, and the ou's were all over it like a rash. Looked like some serious ripping took place. Dirk got all the evidence, check it out.
