Pipe 31 March '12 (Basheer) Popping wheelies
The swell didn't quite wrap round as expected - yet again the curse of the SSW swell direction. Still, a coupla fun waves about on Friday, and some leftovers on Saturday as well. Plenty of frothing groms in the water at Pipe, all getting their practice sesh's in before the BBG Grom Games this week.

Seals 18 March '12 (Stan) Keeping outta the sun

Pipe 10 March '12 (Nick) Groms are always keen!
Not many waves on Saturday, but great weather, which meant guys were keen to get wet anyway. Nick took a swim at Pipe with his cam, and the local groms did their best to get him some shots.

The phantom swell strikes again. Instead of 3-4ft runners the ou's had to deal with 1ft closeouts instead. But hey, the weather was mooi, the water was warm, and so everyone just had a lekker chilled day at the beach. Check Luc's shots.

Rodney's shots from the Pipe last Sunday. Light onshore, but still a lekker day to be in the water. Heard the ou's had it a bit hectic having to dodge kiteboarders. Looks like a prang is gonna happen somewhere along the line, so keep yours eye's peeled for flying boards.

After surfing for a total of 7 hours I decided to call it quits and go shoot a bit instead. Ended up with some fun shots of what was a pretty damn decent day at Millers. Check it out.

If you didn't get barreled at Pipe on Monday it was only cos you didn't wanna pull in, not cos there were no shacks on offer. The local crew got pitted off their pips, and Jono caught all the action.

Nick decided to swim out at Pipe with his camera yesterday and got some fun shots (& plenty of exercise) for his efforts. Super hard trying to be in the right place, not get a board in the pip, and then hope no drops are on ya lens.

Some fun waves on offer after the longboard trial finished up. Plenty of wind to deal with unfortunately, which meant some hard to make sections. Rodney got some cool shots of the guys making the most of what east swell did arrive.

Cape Town was 12-15ft....the bay was 2-3ft. Maybe the odd 4ft'r. Oh well, can't win em all. You could of course have braved the wildside, maar dis nog n ding. Dirk got some nice shots of the guys making do with sloppy seconds.

Luckily the light onshore wasn't enough to spoil the party. There were some fun lil ramps at Pipe and plenty of takers out there. Ou's are amping for winter, when the bigger surf, howling winds and freezing water will chase the pretenders away.
