The Heasley's hit the Maldives
Barry got gatvol with the total lack of surf over November and decided to bail to the Maldives with his son Greg for a week. And boy, did they score! Classic uncrowded surf whilst the rest of us grovelled in 1ft windswell. All the shots of Pasta Point, taken by the surf guide there. Unfortunately no shots of Sultans, as the guys were too busy surfing to bother with pic's! Over to Barry for his story....
My son Greg and I have just returned from an awesome surf-filled trip to the Maldives where we stayed on the Dhonveli Island of Pasta Point which is basically a paradise island with all the attributes of Mauritius and Seychelles except that it has perfect lefts directly in front of the restaurant and pub!!
A 7 minute boat ride away is a cooking right hander called Sultans which we surfed for 2 full days with no one else in sight - 4-6 foot perfection and no one else to share it with - unheard of virtually anywhere in the known surfing world!
After the first 3 days we started feeling the chafes and sunburn from 3 baggies sessions a day and one had to then don a 2mm rubber vest in order to save the ribcage from being ripped open.
This was my 3rd trip to Maldives and Greg’s 2nd trip and we have yet to have a single day of no waves over there - an insane place for a surf trip.
