Shew, NOT a good month for surf. After a wave-starved November everyone was amped for a change of fortune, but no luck. A couple of small swells snuck in early in the month, and then the easterlies got us in a choke hold from then onwards. The usual Christmas swell got lost in the post unfortunately. Nonetheless, the guys made the most of what waves came through, so check out the galleries. Plenty of photags around to capture all the surf.

Pipe 23 Dec '10 A lucky punter just loving the fact that it's west!
Slow, slow month for waves. Summer's such a waste of warm water, great weather and free time...as there's no waves to make to all come together. Just means that when a small lump and a puff of west arrive, so do the crowds!

West of PE 17 Dec '10 Simon Fish pushing it above the lip
The east backed off just enough to allow an onshore surf, specially if you were desperate enough after nearly 3 weeks of east. Shew, not a good holiday for surf so far. Still, a coupla waves were had.Check it out.

Luc got some great shots down at Pipe on Tuesday. Everyone's frothing that there's waves at last. We're super spoilt to have had so many photag's out there covering the last 2 days. Thanks guys!

Ang got some great shots on Monday and Tuesday down at Pipe. Everyone's really ripping. Maybe all that pent up energy from being waveless for so long? And next week Mon/Tues look OK, so here's hoping Dec beats Nov for waves.

Everyone was hopeful that the surf would be as fun as yesterday, but the east came up a bit too early to spoil the fun. Still, some chunky bowls were to be found at Pipe, and the guys were out there making the most of it.

Millers 6 Dec '10 (pm) Anne snapping at Millers
After going numb bobbing about with the GoPro for 2 hours, decided to go thaw out and shoot from the beach instead. Plenty of waves, but plenty of peeps. Turned into quite a flotilla by dusk. Really fun Millers tho.

Josh Mc snapped some shots at Pipe in the morning and arvie. Stitches come out tomorrow, so expect to see him in the water again instead of behind the lens! Plenty of boosts and big moves going down.

After surfing for 2 hours it got a bit crowded, so decided best bet was to grab the GoPro instead. Managed a coupla fun shots, altho still getting the hang of it. Buy yourself one of these for Christmas, they're super fun!

Another session at Pipe on Monday, shot by Josh. Plenty of good moves going down from the boys. lefts seemed to be the dominant wave - altho maybe that's cos where the photag was standing? Guys know they have to surf toward the photag's to get the shots!

Avo's 3 Dec '10 Wind-smeared waves at Avo's
Welcome to the windy city. Pumping east yesterday. Pumping west today. And still hardly any surf! Few headhigh one's came through at Avo's, altho the chop made things super tricky. Still, some ou's snagged a few cover-ups.
